Penistone Camera Club was established in 1967 by a group of people passionate about photography.  Since then the club has gone from strength to strength, with an ever growing membership. The club meets at 7.30pm every Wednesday Evening at the St Johns Community Centre, which is situated on Church Street adjacent to Penistone Church.  There is a large car park and disabled access.

The programme of activities for the year includes club and inter-club competitions, outings to places of interest and guest speakers, who give talks on a variety of subjects.  The annual programme is listed on the diary page.

The club is well equipped with studio lights and props, laptops, digital projector, camera and A3 printer which are available on practical evenings and competition nights.

A discussion forum enables members to communicate with one another, ask questions and find information about all things photographic.

New members are welcome and we offer the opportunity for you to come and meet us and share in club activities for four weeks before committing to full membership.  During this time we ask you to pay the weekly two pounds for each session you attend.  If you decide that you’d like to join as a full members, our current subscription is seventeen pounds a year.

Interested in developing your photography?  Why not come along and join us.

What an exciting evening everyone had at the annual mix and match competition against Shafton & District Photographic Society. The competition consists of each team having 80 images, which are usually out takes the unusual or down right funny.

The idea of the competition is for one team to project an image and the other team has to match it on content. The images are then judged for the best one by an external judge.

The scores for the competition were Penistone 67 and Shafton 51. The judge commented the quality of the images from both clubs were of a high standard.
